Janelle Tam, the founder and director of Vivace Piano Studio, trained classically as a pianist for 12 years, and obtained her Grade 10 RCM qualification with first-class honours in 2011. Her desire to share music and her love for children resulted in her beginning to teach piano while only 15 years old, focusing on making lessons both productive and fun by devising innovative ways to motivate and engage young students. Upon graduation from high school, she had taught 14 students and amassed 4 years of experience.

Her experiences teaching piano led her to notice a need for young, energetic, responsible, qualified piano teachers who will connect with their students and give fun lessons to children at a reasonable price. She believes the answer lies in high school and university student teachers. Thus, she founded Vivace Piano Studio in 2013 in order to match students looking for fun, engaging lessons at good prices with high school and university students who can provide them.

About Us

Vivace. Italian for "lively" and "vivid". A musical term directing the performer to play in a brisk, spirited, energetic manner. Usually found on a piece of music, at the start of a new phrase.

This encompasses the goal of Vivace Piano Studio: to employ lively, energetic young high school and university student piano teachers who will start students on a fun, engaging journey towards mastery of the piano. We specialize in beginner music lessons for children. Our studio aims to use innovative methods to teach sound technical skills and most importantly, instill a love of music.
